Why come? Leadership is the single most valued skill for pursuing an exciting and engaging career. It is a multi-faceted skill that cannot be fully developed inside a classroom. Leadership development is both the inspiration and goal of this conference, and when combined with all of the exciting events of VILC among like-minded peers, delegates are sure to come away inspired.
Highlights of the conference include keynote speakers and workshops led by successful and prominent community members; networking events with local industry professionals and representatives from our outstanding sponsors; nightlife events for mingling and meeting new friends; as well as catered meals.
The theme of the 2011 conference was Be Inspired to Excel and the main goal ws to inspire, encourage, and motivate the participants to make leadership a part of their everyday life. Students with leadership skills and confidence in their ability to take on challenges succeed not only in their studies, but also later on in their professional life.
As a student-run event, the conference delivers a spot-on leadership skill set aimed towards university students of all disciplines. One of the top priorities for the conference executive this year is to provide a conference beneficial to students of any major – leadership skills are not bound to a specific career-path, and we have certainly by now realized that cooperation leaders to a sum greater than its parts.
